LEXINGTON - Ruth “Mac” McClellion Martin, 92, passed away on February 21, 2017. Born in Williamston, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Weston McClellion and Elizabeth Mackey. “Mac” graduated from Anderson County Hospital in 1947 as a registered nurse and continued her nursing career for 35 years. After retiring from nursing, “Mac” volunteered with the American Red Cross with another 20 years of service.
A funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Surviving are her daughter, Lou Martin Galloway (Keith) of Lexington; son, Tony Martin (Betty) of Fort Mill, S.C.; son-in-law, Frank Williams of Lexington; grandchildren, Lindsey Knight (Jeremy) of Acworth, Ga., Ben Galloway and Wes Galloway of Columbia, Liz Galloway of Bluffton, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Mike, Maddie, Brianna and Brandon Knight and nieces, Kay Harris and Beth Pagan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Col. Roy E. Martin; brothers, Paul McClellion and Henry Thomas McClellion; son, Mike Martin; and daughter, Patricia Martin Williams.
The family would like to thank the staff at Presbyterian Homes in Lexington, as well as a special thanks to Elizabeth Rowson for her companionship and care for “Mama Mac.”
