Ruth Rebecca (Goachee) Beckhusen, lifelong Toledo resident, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2014 at the age of 91 with her family at her bedside holding her hands. Ruth was truly an angel on earth who has now returned to her Heavenly Home. She was born in Toledo on December 9, 1922 to the late Clarence and Blanche (Relyea) Goachee. She graduated from Woodward High School. Ruth married the love of her life, Alvin (Harry) Beckhusen, on November 29, 1941. Alvin preceded her in passing in September 2008. She was also preceded by her parents and sister, Betty Kasch.
Prior to raising her family, she worked as a shoe sales clerk at the old Sears store downtown. Ruth was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and past member of Sylvania Eastern Stars. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her love for her family was utmost in her every thought, word and deed. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing word search puzzles. Ruth and Alvin loved to travel and had visited most of the 50 states. An annual fishing trip to Canada with Alvin and Jim was something she looked forward to and often out-fished them. She and Barbara had a love of the Amish scenery and their peaceful lifestyle and made numerous trips to Sugar Creek and Shipshewana.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jagielski of Portage, MI; son, James Beckhusen of Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren, Mark Jagielski; Mary Jagielski and Jamie Beckhusen; great grandchildren, James; Jordyn; Josh and Connor and precious great great grandson, Keidyn.
