Sally C. Catlin, 85 passed away in Canoga Park, CA on July 4, 2017.

Born and raised in Ohio, Sally was a resident of Hoffman Estates, IL for nearly 55 years and was active in the early growth of the Village and surrounding area. She served many years as the Republican Committeewoman of Schaumburg Township. She was also a member of the Hoffman Estates Police and Fire Commission. Sally’s work life ran the gamut from the Illinois Tollway Authority to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office; from the district office of Congressman Phil Crane to the Bureau of Native American Programs at HUD. She spent many hours working on local, state and national elections in various capacities from poll watching to finance.

Sally spent her summers traveling to Florida with her life-long friends, Kathleen, Dorothy, and Joyce a/k/a the “Golden Girls”. She loved her country and it was no surprise to her family and friends that she left her earthly existence on Independence Day.

Sally is survived by her son, Michael (Rashke) Catlin of Denver, CO; daughter, Kristine (Mark) VanCleve of Canoga Park, CA; son-in-law Eduardo Vera of Crestwood, MO; grandson, Taylor Catlin; granddaughter, Kate Scott; brother, Charles “Larry” (Jennette) Rhodes of Bellville, OH, as well as friends and neighbors who considered Sally another mom or sister.

Sally was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Scott in 2014.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St Charles Borromeo Church, North Hollywood, CA at 2:00p.m.

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held in the Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area in mid-September.
