Samuel was born on November 16, 1937 and passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017.

Samuel was a resident of Shelby, North Carolina at the time of passing.

In addition to his parents Samuel was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Phillips and Sarah Lanier, Norris Lee, Ruth Blanton and Margaret Gold and two brothers, Bill Gold and Charles Gold. Sam is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marlene Adams Gold, his two sons; Jimmy Gold and wife Lisa and Tommy Gold and wife Freida all of Earl; three grandchildren, Sabrina Gold, Matt Gold, and Jordan Gold as well as four great-grandchildren, Leah Gold, Mason Gold, C.J. Gold, and Henry Gold. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday August 8, 2017 with Rev. Russ Bradley officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
