Sandra was born in Chattanooga, TN on October 31, 1942, the daughter of the late George and Frances Woods. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Martha Jean Woods Wardlaw and grandson, Joshua Blake Allen.
Sandra graduated from Central High School in 1960 where she was a head cheerleader and president of The Night Owls social club and where she met and later married the love of her life, Don Allen, on June 17, 1961. She attended the University of Chattanooga. After 22 years of dedicated service, Sandra retired from the Hamilton County Chancery Court in 2002.

She was a faithful member of the Women's Bible Study group and demonstrated her selfless service to others by volunteering weekly at Volunteers in Medicine. Sandra was a kind and dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She loved and served her Lord faithfully and lived comforted by His word in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" and Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 55 years, Don L. Allen Sr., and sons, Donald, (Donnie) Allen Jr. and Lee Robert (Bobby) Allen. Grandchildren include Donald L. (Lee) Allen III, Taylor Lee Allen, Noah Robert Allen, Courtney Brook Allen, and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ron Priddy, Ken Wilkerson, Robert Wardlaw, Jessie Wardlaw, Taylor Allen, and Noah Allen with the members of the Open Door Class and The Night Owls social club serving as honorary pallbearers.
