A memorial service for Sandra Jones Ricks, 73 of Cochran, who died Thursday, February 9, 2018, will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Rustin and Dr. Phil West officiating.

Mrs. Ricks was born in Ft. Valley Georgia, the daughter of the late Harley W. and Audrey Reynolds Jones. She was the widow of Raymond R. Ricks. She lived in Cochran since the age of four, and was a 1962 graduate of Cochran High School and a graduate of Middle Georgia College School of Nursing. She was the first registered nurse hired by Bassett Furniture Co. of Macon and the Sara Lee Corporation in Eastman. She went on to serve as Worker's Compensation Manager and Director of the Medical Department for Cagle's Inc. She was a member of Cochran First Baptist Church and Oneness Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of the choir and the Women's Missionary Union. Three brothers Bob Jones, Earl Jones and Dewey Jones preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Lawson of Bonaire; four sons: Scott (Donna) Lawson of Bushnell Fl., James Lawson of Athens, Tim Lawson of Chester and Chris Lawson of Cochran; a brother Harry Kemp (Martha Grace) Jones of Cochran; sister Sara Wilson of San Antonio, Texas.; nine grandchildren, Ty Gaddy, Cole Lawson, Samantha Lawson, Lindsay Lawson, Ryan Lawson, Emily Lawson, Kasey Lawson, Willow Lawson and Walker Lawson.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Music Ministry of Cochran First Baptist Church, 101 S. Second St. Cochran, Ga. 31014.
