Mr. Sandy Jerry Steele, age 47, of Toccoa passed away Monday, September 11, 2017.

Born March 24, 1970 in Tampa, FL, he was a son of Jerry Olin and Christine Murray Steele.

Sandy was a life-long resident of Stephens County. Sandy was passionate about children, both professionally and personally. He spent countless hours working to improve the lives of many children in his community. His advocacy exceeded the boundaries of his professional obligations, touching lives of all children, regardless of their race or socio-economic status.

Family members include his parents, Jerry and Christine Steele of Demorest, GA; wife, Stephanie Key Steele of Toccoa; sons, Brent Michael Steele and Bradley Alexander Steele both of Toccoa; sister, Rhonda LaBarbera and Jeff of Demorest, GA; nieces, Anna LaBarbera and Meg LaBarbera both of Demorest.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to The Power House for Kids to continue to his legacy of protecting children in Stephens County, 768 US-123 Toccoa, GA 30577.
