Shelvie Shelton Smith Sr. 86 of Campbells Creek went home to be with the Lord Saturday May 5, 2012.

Shelvie was born in Blue Creek on January 26, 1926 to the late William Wesley & Ina Brinnegar Smith. He was a mechanic at the Capital Beverage Company and a member of the Teamsters Local 175. He also was a member of the Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Esta M. Smith; sisters, Mary Clark, Elsie Akiers and Lexie Smith; brothers, Roy, Charles, Clemith and Earl Smith.

Shelvie is survived by his children, Shelvie Smith Jr. of Campbells Creek, Janet Jenkins of Ninty Six, SC and Mary Crouch of Campbells Creek; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Family and friends may call Monday May 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at the Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
