Born August 10, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to Melvin and Mildred (Cole) Lindsay. Passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017 at the age of 87.
Shirley spent most of her life in Mason, MI. She graduated from Mason High School and worked for Farm Credit Services until retirement.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Lindsay; mother, Mildred Walker; brother, Norman Lindsay; and sister, Bonnie Menovske.
She is survived by son, James Giesey and wife, Monica Torres; sister, JoAnn Alderman; brother, Bernie Walker; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Shirley was an extremely caring and giving person. She donated her time and money to several different charitable organizations. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and enjoyed sending cards to celebrate loved ones special occasions and holidays. Shirley loved her Michigan State Spartans and was a sports enthusiast. She especially enjoyed watching horseracing, football, basketball and all things MSU. She also liked gardening and reading a good book. Shirley was active in her church and taught Sunday school class, was a former Cub Scout Den Leader, and involved with the Mason Area Historical Society of which she was a life member.
Per Shirley's wishes, a small, private, family graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mason, Michigan.
