Shirley, a sixty-three resident of the Monterey Peninsula, was born in Bastrap, Louisiana. She worked as a waitress in many restaurants for forty-two years, she retired from the Clam Box Restaurant in Carmel where she worked with her two best friends, Ilene and Carolyn. Shirley
enjoyed playing bunco, going to Bible Study, attending Sunday Services and she loved cooking.
Shirley was a passionate Christian so, it was no surprise that she passed on Easter Sunday. Her love for Christ was evident in her everyday life. She was a role model for all who came in contact with her.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Denise (Jim); her sons, Ray (Patty), Jack (Debbie) and Lance; four grandsons, three great-grandchildren and one expected soon. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Doyle.
Visitation will take place at The Paul Mortuary Chapel Wednesday, April 26 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 26 at 11:00 AM at the Santa Rosalia Chapel of San Carlos Cemetery followed by burial at the cemetery.
