Shirley Puckett Kincaid, 84, of Morganton, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday July 24, 2019.
Born in Burke County on March 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Albert Lee "Buddy" Puckett and Estelle Mull Puckett.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Shirley was a very caring and giving person, and always thought of others before herself. She was a member of Asheville Street Baptist Church.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank Kincaid of the home; daughter, Sharon Ball and husband Mark of Mars Hill; her very special grandson James Ball of Mars Hill; brother, Ronnie Puckett (Marcia) of Valdese; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Kincaid and Kathy Kincaid both of Morganton; and her many beloved nieces and nephews, her faithful dog Buddy and many close friends.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by brother-in-laws Norman Kincaid, Russell Kincaid (Betty Sue) sister-in-laws, Mary Virginia Tate (Charlie Mac) and Millie Benfield (Bob).
The family will receive friends Saturday July 27, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Asheville Street Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. Saturday July 27, 2019 at Asheville Street Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Goforth and Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Entombment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family would like to thank the staff at Burke Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Shirley.
