Mr. Sochan A Chin was born in Kous Village, Tram Kok District, Takeo Province, Cambodia. He is the first son of six children. He has four brothers and two sisters. His father is Mr. Neang Chin and Mother Mrs. Piet.

He married to Miss Saw Lun. They had five children; one son and four daughters. Givens the oldest to the youngest: Harein Vattey Chin, Sovann Keo Chin, Chenda Chin, Vibol Chin and Rasmey Chin.

He has three son in-law and one daughter in-law: Sokun Long, Choat Teng, Kosal Prom and Sokhany Chey. He has eight grand-children: Anita Long, Alina Long, Elizabeth Teng, Ashley Teng, Johnathon Teng, Sylvia Chin Prom, Isaac Chin Prom and Alyssa Nari Chin.

He completed his elementary educations in Tram Kok District and furthers his educations at Phnom Penh, Capital City of Cambodia.

In 1967, he completed his education degree and became a teacher at Katout High school.

While teaching at Katout High School, he continued his education at Technology Institute in the Architecture science and completed another degree as a Civil Engineer. In 1970, he was hired as civil engineer at Travo Service. In the mid-of 1974, he was selected to be trained in astrology technical engineer field at Bangkok, Thailand.

In 1975, he left Thailand country to United States of America due to our country fell into communist regime and he was not able to return home.

In 1976, he was hired as an electronic assembler at Tektronix Company in Beaverton, Oregon and later on was promoted to circuit board inspector/tester technician.

Later on in life, he married to Miss Sopheap Chhum. She has one daughter Amanda Bopha Lay and son in-law Tun Lay. They also have three grandchildren: Madora Lay, Jasmine Lay and Naythan Lay.

Mr. Sochan A. Chin also has one adopted daughter: Stephaine Sopheak Mauke.
