Stanley "Jim" Devies passed away suddenly in his home in Glendale on October 3rd.

Jim was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife Maudie, his children, Craig, Nanette, Michelle, Neil, Patti, and Shannon, 16 Grandchildren, 10 great-Grandchildren and a large extended family.

Jim proudly served his country in the Korean War from Nov. 1951 till Oct. 1953 as a member of the intelligence department, perhaps this tour of duty would instill his sense of adventure for years to come.

After Korea, Jim returned to his birthplace of Akron, OH and gained employment with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He was transferred to their new aerospace division in Goodyear, AZ where he would eventually meet his wife of 45 years, Maudie.

Maudie and Jim shared a sense of adventure and traveled to not only some of the world's most famous wonders, but also to some of the far reaches of the earth via some less traveled roads. Jim cherished these trips with friends and family and they were some of his fondest and most vivid memories.

Jim and Maudie also shared a willingness to work hard and a desire to succeed, no matter how much work it required. Together they built a rental investment company that thrives to this day.

Jim will be dearly missed but his legacy shall continue by those influenced by his kindness, compassion, thirst for adventure, his willingness to help others, and his hard work ethics.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14th, with visitation one hour prior, both at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, in Glendale.
