Stanley was born in St. Louis, MO, to Leah and Meyer Schwartz. He attended St. Louis High School where he signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals his senior year. He received a $100 signing bonus in 1950. He was released from the Cardinals and the Cleveland Indians offered him a contract which his father declined for him so he could continue his education. He then went to the University of Missouri where he met his wife of 63 years. They moved to Oklahoma City when Stanley took a job at L & S Bearing Company working for his Uncle Leo. In 1979 he became President of L & S Bearing. At age 59, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and took an early retirement.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter, Dawn; two sons, David (Andrea) and Bradd (Madeline) and grandchildren, Timothy, Nora, and Lauren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Chabad Community Center, or a charity of your choice. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery.

His family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice for all their compassion and care for Stanley. We will always remember him as a gentleman and a Gentle Man.
