Mike Clark was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. Mike was born on September 21, 1949, at Sisters Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of Bessie and Fulton Clark. Mike grew up in Baytown, Texas and graduated from Lee High School in 1967. Soon after graduation Mike joined the Army and spent 3 years in Vietnam.

After his time in the Army, Mike attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. After graduating, Mike found work as a Computer Programmer and started his career.

Throughout his career he worked and travelled through many different countries. During his time in Germany he met Irina and her son Efim, and they were married. In 2000, Mike, Irina and Efim returned to Austin. Mike worked for the VA, and over the next 4 years he and Irina had a son, Christopher and a daughter, Paulina. Mike worked hard to be a good father to his children, and he did his best to fulfill their needs. His children brought him great joy and a new purpose in life. He poured himself into their sports and other activities. Every summer he loved to take long, family fishing trips to the coast.

In January 2014, Mike retired from the VA. After retirement, he devoted all his free time to his children. In April 2015, Mike started his brave battle with cancer.
