Steve Tibor Nagy, 75, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2017, peacefully at home. He is preceded in death by his parents Maria (Molnar) Blasko and Joseph Blasko. Steve was born in Hajduboszormeny, Hungary. He and his mother were forced to flee Hungary after the Revolution of 1956. They then lived in a displaced persons camp in Austria until coming to Fort Wayne as refugees in 1959. Steve learned English and graduated from Central High School before starting a career at NIPSCO. In 1972 he opened The Hobby Hut Stamps and Coins. In recent years Steve volunteered with the Karen refugee community and helped sell breads at several local farmers markets for the family bakery. Steve is survived by a son Steven Nagy (Angela Quinn), and a daughter, Christine Nagy Mokgadi. He is also survived by grandchildren Thabo Mokgadi, Kagiso Mokgadi, Mogale Mokgadi, Pauline Quinn, Jacob Keirn, and a great granddaughter, Amelia Zeimet. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home on Winchester Road, with a gathering following at First Christian Church on South Calhoun Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Parks Allen County or Friends of Burma.
