He cheered on the Detroit Tigers as well as the Michigan State Spartans. Steve and Joann took up 5k race/walk charity events. They ran the Mackinac Bridge in 2013. Joann plans to run the Mackinac Bridge this Labor Day in his memory. He learned to bake bread from scratch and even ground his own grain. Steve always took on the cooking duties for family events even washing the dishes after the dinners. He donated almost 19 gallons of blood and provided the most caring gift of all by donating his body to the Willed Body Program at MSU.
