Steven D. Von Bank lifelong resident of New Prague died January 30, 2014 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:30 am Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Church of St Wenceslaus in New Prague, MN. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Church of St. Wenceslaus and one hour before the funeral liturgy on Wed. Interment will be at the church cemetery.

Steve was born July 22, 1950 in New Prague, MN the son of James and Rosemary (Geiger) Von Bank. He attended school in New Prague and graduated in 1968. After high school he worked for Thermo- King. Steve was united in marriage to Karen Meger May 5, 1973 at Our Lady of the Prairie Church in Belle Paine. The couple made their home in New Prague. Steve worked for Con Agra in New Prague in many different areas for 28 years retiring in 2004. Steve was a member of the New Prague Knight of Columbus, Eagles, JC's and sportsman club. Life interests were NASCAR, fishing, woodworking, gardening and being a Grandpa.

Steve is survived by his wife Karen, four children, daughter Amy (Matt Haroldson) Von Bank of Belle Plaine and their children Dylan, Jade, Drew, and Arianna Haroldson, son Steve (Jamie) Von Bank of Le Center their children Brayden, Mara and Melanie, son Tim (Carly) Von Bank of Waseca, children Christopher and Avary Hopper also Josie Von Bank and Kaylynn Balk, daughter Melissa (Jason) Draeger of New Prague and children Bailey and Bradley. Steve's siblings Linda (Ron) Deutsh of Hampshire, ILL Greg (Connie) Von Bank of Montgomery, Terry Von Bank of New Prague, Sandy (Mark) Scheffler of New Prague, Tom (Jana) Von Bank of Savage, Diane Schmitt of Buffalo, MN, Jeff Von Bank (special friend Camille) of Northfield, Kevin (Carol) Von Bank of New Prague, Bill Von Bank of Prior Lake. Along with many brother and sister –in law, nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his infant sons Michael and Joseph, father James, Sister Nancy Simon.
