Susan Atkinson Andrews, 65, was reunited with her mother and father in Heaven on January 1, 2018. Her unexpected death leaves a void for her family that cannot be filled. Susan's life will be celebrated at 11 AM, Thursday, January 4 in the Lineberry Center of Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel, officiated by Pastor John Woods, and followed by visitation.
Susan was born in High Point to the late Samuel and Doris Peele Atkinson and graduated from Andrews High School in 1971. She treasured her relationship with the Lord and exemplified His love in giving generously and caring selflessly for others. She and Sam attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church where she enjoyed participating in various ladies' functions. It was evident by her fun loving nature and sparkling laugh when she was in the company of her children and grandchildren that was exactly where she wanted to be. She had a gentle grace and soft spoken voice that allowed her to be a wonderful caregiver to her parents and father-in-law when they became ill. Although she loved her job as an office manager with Edward Jones, retirement allowed her more time with her family. She treated her family to homemade desserts, beautiful handmade crafts and loved to spend quality time at home with them. Susan was always concerned for her family's well- being and was a concerned and protective mother.
Susan will be remembered by her husband, Sam Andrews of Greensboro; sons, Mike (Christa) Lewis of Stokesdale and Ryan (Shannon) Becher of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, Emery, Callie, Presley, Joe, and Leland; brothers, Tommy (Deborah) Atkinson and Dale (Kathy) Atkinson; mother-in-law, Mary Andrews; brother-in-law, Mike (Karen) Andrews; three nephews; one niece; and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro or Brenner's Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be offered at www.haneslineberryfueneralhomes.com. Hanes-Lineberry N. elm chapel is assisting the Andrews family.
