Furlong, Sylvia Mae, 100, died November 17, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 2PM Friday, November 24, 2017 at Arlington Memory Gardens.

Sylvia Mae, born in Miami County, Ohio, April 2, 1917. She was the youngest of seven siblings and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Ehlers. Mae married the man of her dreams, Luther J. Furlong and they moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1953. Luther worked as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base, while Mae raised three sons, Tom, Dick, and Harry-yes, they had a wonderful sense of humor.

Mae traveled extensively worldwide, even into her 90s. She excelled in the kitchen, ask anyone. Mae was involved with Daughters of the Nile, a charitable international fraternal organization of women proud of their long association with Shiners International and continuing support of Shiners Hospital for Children. Mae was nothing less than habitual in her time spent in church, spiritually and as a member of her church community. She was loved by many, as she was fiercely loyal and generous to her family and friends. Anyone so blessed to cross paths with Sylvia Mae will not likely ever forget their time spent with her.
Mae lived a beautiful life and is survived by her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a great-great-grandchild!

She is preceded in death by her husband Luther and their daughter Nancy Sue.
