Terry Dunlap Warley was born on December 8, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joan Davis and Henry Reeves Dunlap. She thrived as a child in the small town of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, where she happily corralled five younger siblings in games, art projects, role-play and neighborhood fun. She excelled in school at the Bryn Athyn Elementary School and the Girls’ School of the Academy of the New Church, maintaining her close school friendships throughout her life.
Terry attended the University of Delaware, receiving a degree in clothing design and textiles. Terry had seen an article about Atlanta in The National Geographic Magazine, and a week after college graduation she flew to Atlanta to find her fortune. Rather than fashion, she discovered a successful career in the business world. She worked on teams at Retail Credit Company, Coca-Cola and Georgia Pacific where she collected close friends at each company. Terry was a leader in her church congregation, and spearheaded a movement to establish the first Swedenborgian Church in Atlanta. Her marriage to Randolph Warley gave her the blessings of motherhood. She loved being a stepmother to Beverly Warley, a Mom to Anne Marie Warley, as well as a guardian to Karen Interath. Terry was a knowledgeable and keen advocate for the disabled in Georgia.
Terry was quick to celebrate friendships new and old. She enjoyed hosting a party, joining a cooking contest, staging a rubber duck race, organizing a rafting trip, taking a garden walk, or sharing a Disney vacation. She lived a life of truth and love.
Terry Dunlap Warley is survived by her daughters, Anne Warley, Beverly Yancy, Karen Inthirath, her mother, Joan, and her siblings, Nina, Peaches, Charis, Frederick, Bennet and her grandchildren, Anthony and Nicolas Mastone, Peter, Victoria, and Allen Inthirath.
