Teresa Jayne Lawson Marruffo was born on March 27, 1961 and died on November 6, 2017. She was a registered nurse and provided loving care to hospital patients.

Teresa was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Lowel H. and Nadine (Edmiston) Lawson. Her stepmother Pat Lawson and step-sister Gale Ashbrener preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings Stephanna Hayes (Michael), Tommy Lawson (Tana), and Mark Ashbrener (Brenda).

Teresa grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma and graduated from Wagoner High School in 1979. She later attended Tulsa Junior College and studied nursing and Spanish. She was a nurse at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for over 25 years.

Teresa married Ricardo Marruffo in 1982, and they had three daughters: Sara Marruffo-Blodget (Torrie Blodget), Rosa Marruffo, and Cristina Marruffo. Teresa was a proud mother and believed that her daughters' career paths corresponded to her life experiences while pregnant and that her daughters had followed their destiny. Teresa and Ricardo separated in 2005.

She loved fine art, arts and crafts and the outdoors. She took continuing education classes at Tulsa Community College and studied art history and Italian. She made outstanding Halloween costumes for her daughters. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and cardmaking and shared her creations with family and friends. She loved camping and hiking especially in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado.

The memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Wagoner on Saturday, November 11 at 4:30 pm officiated by the Reverend Jim Hollifield.
