Tex C. Sumner, 89 of Royalston, MA passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Athol Hospital. He was born in Bristol, VT on August 4, 1928; the son of the late Berley and Anna (Hallock) Sumner.

Tex was raised and educated in VT before relocating to MA in 1961. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed for 12 years as a cabinet maker for Filtrine Manufacturing Company. Tex enjoyed spending time on his farm, where he sold vegetables, took care of the horses and made maple syrup. He was a member of the Concord American Legion, Post 200.

He is predeceased by three brothers, Stuart, Stanley and Tracy Sumner and four sisters, Betty Cyr, Beatrice Downer, Barbara Manning, and Marjorie Sumner.

He is survived by five sons, Joseph Sumner of Royalston, MA, Christopher Sumner of MA, Daniel Sumner and his wife Marge of Orange, MA, Charles Sumner of NY, and Robert Sumner and his wife Carol of MA; a daughter, Susie Gray and her husband Martin of Gardner, MA; two brothers, Sonny and Phillip Sumner both of VT; a sister, Catherine Sibley of VT; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

An hour of Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at FLETCHER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene.
