Thelma Elizabeth Stafford Boring, 94, of Ooltewah, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at a local nursing home.

She was a member of John's Memorial Baptist Church.
Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She had previously worked as a cafeteria worker at Ooltewah Elementary School and was an employee of Chastain Egg Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cora Spurgeon, and first husband, Lloyd Allen Stafford, and second husband, Lum Boring, and brothers, Floyd (Bigin), Lloyd (Litlin), Herman(Hoot), Earl Spurgeon, and sisters, infant, Betty Ruth Spurgeon, and Larue Wilson Hortenberry, and one son, Garey Allen Stafford, of McDonald, TN.

She is survived by one sister, Ailene Spurgeon Tucker of Panama City, FL and three sons, Doyle (Nancy), Donald(Duck) (Barbara) and Rickey (Pam) Stafford, all of Ooltewah, TN and daughter-in-law, Marie Stafford of McDonald, TN. She leaves to cherish her memory ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Donald and Joy Swearengin.

A celebration of Thelma's life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Donald Swearengin officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Ooltewah Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the funeral home.
