Theresa "Tess" Costa passed away peacefully at Grace Barker Nursing Center on July 27, 2016. Aunt Tess was born to Mariadonata and Francisco Ciniglio on January 27, 1918 in Warren, RI where she lived for all of her 98 years; Water St. to Wood St. back to Water St. and on to the Willows.

She worked in Warren at Coats & Clark for many years amassing a retirement package that paid her $34 a month. She loved the beach, especially Block Island with her lifelong friends Sadie and Yolanda. She also enjoyed the opera and theater. Later in life she met and married Frank Costa who took her from dancing at Crescent Park on weekends to dancing in Vienna on New Year's Eve. He passed away just before Christmas in 1984.

She was a member of the Warren Senior Citizens Center, the Jolly Seniors, the Maxwell House Historical Society and Saint Alexander's Church. She was an amazing seamstress. What she did best was make you feel welcome in her home; whether it was presents under the tree, Easter Pie, pepper biscuits, Thanksgiving lasagna or Sunday meatballs.

Tess out lived all her siblings. They were an incredibly close bunch sharing a house as adults except for Sal who passed away in his early teens. The young twins Carmela and Hank left early to marry and raise families. Rachel moved out and pursued a career as a nurse's aide. Finally Gerry left to marry and raise a family, too; leaving Tess alone to marry Frank. After Frank passed, Carmela and Tess shared a house where Hank, Rachel and Gerry could all feel at home again.

She was a wonderful aunt who will be greatly missed by her nieces Elaine Tormey, Rayona Clemens and her husband Todd; nephews, Augie Malillo and his wife Sara, Jerry Ciniglio, Peter Ciniglio and his wife Nina and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

A special thank you to the staff at the Willows and the Grace Barker Nursing Center. An extra special thanks to Eileen, the sister-in-law who was always there.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Alexander's Church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Activities Department at the Willows/Grace Barker Nursing Center, 54 Barker Ave., Warren, RI 02885.
