Peeks, Thomas Edwin (Ed), 93, a resident of Montgomery for the past 50 years, died peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Hattie "Vivian" Peeks, his children Ken Peeks of Chelsea, Debbie Hackett (Dan) of Montgomery; his five grandchildren, Brad Peeks (Jenny), Daniel Hackett, Shawn Nicol (Daniel), Jennie Sellers (Thomas), and John Peeks (Rachel), and five great-grandchildren.

He was born in Vernon, Alabama, on December 5, 1923. He was preceded in death by his parents George Brady Peeks and Jalie Black Peeks, his brother J. T. Peeks and sister Robbie Zell Cooper.

Ed served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII and remained in the service for 27 years. He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 1967. Upon retirement from the Navy he worked with the State of Alabama for four years as an auditor. In June 1971 he joined the staff of Troy University, serving as auditor, controller and Vice-President for Financial Affairs until his retirement in 1988.

Ed was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Poundstone Sunday School Class.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all.

Pallbearers will be Brad Peeks, Daniel Hackett, Daniel Nicol, Thomas Sellers, John Peeks and Al Scott.

Honorary pallbearers: the Poundstone Sunday School Class.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Montgomery with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be made to the First Baptist Church Caring Center.
