Thomas F. Peltak, 86 of Manchester, died May 1, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Manchester on January 24, 1930 the son of Joseph & Henrietta (Duda) Peltak and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the local school system, was a graduate of Manchester Central High School Class of 1947 and a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.

He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the destroyer USS Vesole during the Korean crisis. He was also a member of the East Side Club and the Manchester Fish and Game Club. He loved getting together with family and friends and regaling them with his humorous stories. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and uncle.

Members of his family include the love of his life, his wife of 53 years Lilly (Johnston) Peltak, his daughter Debbie Conroy-Peltak both of Manchester, his son Thomas Peltak Jr. of Hooksett, his two sisters Eleanor (Peltak) O'Connell of Dunbarton and Julie (Peltak) Richer of Manchester, his brothers-in-law Frankie Johnston of Manchester and Ronnie Johnston of Dedham, MA, his sister-in-law Jeanie Johnston of Manchester and his best friend Jim Shea of Manchester as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 6 from 11 am to 1 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a funeral service in the funeral home. Urn burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Tom's name be made to the American Cancer Society 2 Commerce Dr. Suite 110 Bedford, NH 03110 or to the Manchester Animal Shelter 490 Dunbarton Rd. Manchester, NH 03102.
