Thomas H. Ferjet, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was born on December 16, 1929, the son of Thomas and Victoria Ferjet of Forestport, NY. Thomas graduated from Forestport Central School in 1947 and was married to Doreen Eberley on December 20, 1953. The special bond they shared throughout their 57 year marriage was an inspiration to all who knew and loved them. Mrs. Ferjet passed away on May 22, 2011. Thomas proudly served his country in the Korean War. In his younger years, Thomas worked in the construction field. He then worked for many years at the Oneida County Department of Public Works where he was an assistant civil engineer prior to his retirement. Thomas is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Cammiso of Marcy, his three sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Margaret Ferjet of Holland Patent, James H. Ferjet of Old Orchard Beach, ME and William A. Ferjet of Remsen; two grandchildren, Tanya Erway and husband, David Erway of Holland Patent and Melanie Mulligan and husband, Kyle Mulligan of Stittville; and two great grandchildren Kyle and Mara Erway. He also leaves his sisters, Laura Williamson of Constableville and Joan Vaughn of Boonville and their families, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a family friend, Robert Jadwick. Thomas was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Scouten, Alice Williams, Lucille Allen, Bette Ferjet, Carol Woods and his brother, George Ferjet. In keeping with Thomas' wishes, there will be no public visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Grandview Cemetery in Whitesboro. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Whitesboro. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care, who allowed him to pass with dignity and respect.
