THOMAS L. BUETER, 85, peacefully passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 surrounded by his family. A life-long resident of Fort Wayne, he graduated from Central Catholic High School and Xavier University and attended St. Louis University. After working at General Electric for 38 years as a chemical engineer, he volunteered in his retirement for Matthew 25 and St. Vincent de Paul. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club, past president of the Society of Plastics Engineers, and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 451. He traveled extensively and was an avid bridge player, an expert crossword puzzler (in pen!) and an oenophile.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 62 years, Mary; children, Anne (Mark Needham) Bueter, Ellen (Brian) Kennedy, Marcia (Douglas) Savage, Timothy (Lisa) Bueter, Elizabeth (Ronald) Barnett; grandchildren, Matthew Savage, Katie (Andrew)Moore, Emily Bueter, Abigail Bueter, Nicholas Barnett, and Lauren Barnett. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Grace J. (Parisot)Bueter and Leonard H. Bueter and Brother, Joseph "Jay" Bueter.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 E. Dewald St., with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd. with a Rosary service at 6 p.m. Entombment will be in The Catholic Cemetery.
