Thomas Larry "Tommy" Love, born May 5, 1919, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017, after a long and prosperous life. Tommy is survived by his daughter, Kathy Joachim, grandson Carson Joachim and wife Amber, and great granddaughters Addison and Camryn. In addition to his immediate family, he loved, and was loved by Fred Joachim and his devoted nieces Carolyn Kay Mickley and Cynthia Robertson, who all visited him regularly. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Billie Love, his wife of 51 years, and by seven brothers and two sisters.

Tommy was retired from Harris County, where he was Chief Deputy of the Civil Division of the District Clerk's Office - a job he said he loved to go to every day. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was a kind and generous person to both friend and stranger. His joy of life, and his songs, which he sang until the day before he passed, were an inspiration to everyone who was fortunate enough to encounter Tommy Love. Being in his presence was uplifting and an affirmation of what life should be. We would like to thank Com For Care, which was his home for the past nine years, for not only the exceptional care given to him, but for the love of family he received there. In addition, thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice for recognizing the special person he was, and affording not only Tommy, but his family as well, their ultimate concern and respect.

Family and friends will gather and share memories of this wonderful man's life during a visitation at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 22nd in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Bill Cole will officiate and interment will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, also in Houston.
