Thomas Patrick Turnbaugh was born on April 10, 1942 in Phoenix, Arizona to James and Catherine Turnbaugh. Tommy, Thomas, or Tom, as he was known to most, graduated from Carl Hayden High School in 1960 and had several odd jobs until establishing his career working for the City of Phoenix where he worked his way up from janitor to Construction Inspection Supervisor during his 32 year career. In 1962 he married Jane Cullum and they remained married for 55 years until his death.

Although he wasn't brought up in a Christian home, Tom gave his heart to the Lord as a teenager and was active in the church his entire life. He served God first as a Sunday school teacher, then Sunday school superintendent, and finally as a deacon. He was a man of God who inspired his sons through his example, leaving a legacy of faith for his grand children and generations yet to come.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors, camping, travel, and planting flowers in his yard. Most of the time, however, you could find him relaxing in his favorite chair reading the paper and asking, "Hey babe, can you get me a drink of water?" He had a great sense of humor although, truthfully, not everyone understood it. His greatest joy, recently, was spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Tom went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by his wife Jane, his sons Ken (Amalia) and Jason (Lynette), his grandchildren Amanda, Ashley (Paul), Justin (Lezlye), Jocelyn (Josh), Caleb, and Laycie, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Tom will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 beginning with visitation at 9:00 am followed by service at 10:00 am, both being held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
