ROGERS, Thomas Cassilly of Kettering passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017. He was born in Dayton, Ohio at St. Elizabeth Hospital on December 25, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C. and Mildred L. Rogers of Dayton; sister, Norma J. Phillips of Vandalia; brother-in-law, Richard L. James of Centerville; sister-in-law, Karen Rogers of Englewood; and nephew, Sean Rogers of Dayton. Thomas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jo Anne Rogers of Kettering; son, Thomas C. (Cass) Rogers V and wife, Sheri L.; son, Joseph N. (Cole) Rogers and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Caitlin C. Rogers of Beavercreek, Darcy L. Rogers of Springboro; brother, Michel J. Rogers of Englewood. He attended Belhaven Elementary School, and graduated from Fairview High school in 1960 and Bowling Green State University in 1964. Tom distinguished himself with the National Air Intelligence Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base from 1964 to 1998. He worked as an Aerospace Engineer with the Foreign Technology Division at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Tom taught at Patterson Co-op Night School, in Dayton. He coached youth soccer, baseball, and basketball both in Trotwood and Beavercreek. The auxiliary of the Children's Medical Center welcomed Tom as an honorary Twig on May 14, 1991. Tom served 10 years on the Ohio Advisory Committee for the United States Commission on Civil Rights and was admitted to membership in the Golden Legion of Phi Delta Theta.
