Timothy John Kelaher (b. 1959) passed into eternal life on January 25, 2017, after nearly six decades helping and loving others. He will be missed by all the countless people whose lives he touched.

Tim was born in Glen Ridge NJ, lived in nearby Belleville for a few years but spent most of his life in New Providence NJ. After graduating from New Providence High School, he earned an Associate's Degree in Communications from Union College. He moved to the Oak Hall neighborhood of Holly Springs NC in 2012.

Tim's passions included music of all types, celebrating the holidays, cooking, surf fishing, watching his nieces' swim meets and volleyball matches, spending time and going to the beach with family in Florida, and especially helping those in need. He was active in the Catholic parishes of Our Lady of Peace (New Providence) and St. Andrew's (Holly Springs) and a member of the Knights of Columbus (Summit NJ Council). As a photographer, he contributed to venues such as the Newark Star-Ledger, Elizabeth (NJ) Daily Journal, and several local newspapers, and he spent countless hours coaching youth baseball. As a DJ and promoter, Tim introduced swing music and dance to a new audience in the New York area.

Mr. Kelaher was quick to answer the call when someone needed help. When Hurricane Andrew decimated parts of South Florida, for example, he quickly organized a major food and clothing drive, ensuring delivery of needed items all the way from New Jersey.

Tim is reunited with his father John Kelaher, who passed away in 1975. He is survived by his beloved mother Joan Kelaher; brothers Tom (Martha), Dave (Lisa), Chris (Elizabeth), and Dan (Lisa); nephews John Patrick (JP), Ryan, and Connor Kelaher; and nieces Shawn, Kylie, Tessa, Molly, Katie, Susie, and Megan Kelaher.
