Our sweet spirited, beautiful, loving, and gracious Utako T. Aramaki passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 7, 2017. Born June 28,1922 in Ogden, Utah. She married Masao Aramaki on September 26, 1950 in Salt Lake City. Utako's church families at the Japanese Church of Christ and Lake Tahoe Fellowship Retreat, friends, family, and neighbors truly enriched her life and lifted her spirt with kindness and love. Utako was blessed to have loving care givers: Railene Silva, Danielle Droguete, and Austin Aoyama.

She is survived by, children: Diane Horve (Finn deceased), Kathy Shigarami (Yasu), Jan Aramaki, Mark Aramaki (Sharon) and Lynne Crabb (Mark); eight grandchildren: Filip Broos (Melodie), Bobby Sugitachi, Lori Sugitachi (Nick), Chris Miya, Matt Miya, Alex Aoyama, Andy Aoyama, and Austin Aoyama; two great grandchildren Gabe and Kaleb Broos; Hersh Aramaki (Mary), Mary "Bea" Ichiuji, Midge Takahashi, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Masao Aramaki, her parents Tamekichi Takahashi and Koto Nakamura; siblings Mitsugi "Jiggs,'' Shizuko and Toshio Takahashi; and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, niece (Kerrye Takahashi) and nephew (Lee Morrison). Celebration of Utako's life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Japanese Church of Christ, 268 W 100 S, Salt Lake City. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 9 am to 10 am. Celebration of life service begins at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at the Salt Lake City cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in memory of Utako to the Japanese Church of Christ.
