V. Maxine Combs 77, of Decatur, passed away at 1:44 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Maxine's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Hall Cemetery next to her husband. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawsonwikoff.com.
Maxine was born December 26, 1936, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Benjamin F. and Nellie H. (Krutsinger) Clark. She married Albert "Bud" Combs on July 21, 1968. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2002. She was retired from classified sales at the Herald & Review Newspaper after 45 years of service to the company. She enjoyed sewing.
Surviving are her sons: Ken Combs of Decatur and Jeff Combs of Marietta, OK; daughters: Debbie Hinton and Rhonda Dunlap of Decatur, Brenda Best and her husband Kevin of Duncan, OK and Kim Latham and her husband Mike of Decatur; sisters: Irma True of Decatur and Norma Nickey of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Tonya, Sonya, Mikayla, Caleb, Jeremy, and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Tyler, Gaige, and Trinity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers.
