Valerie Sina Kelsall passed away Monday, March 2nd, 2015. Valerie was born on February 12, 1985 in Woodstock, Illinois. She is survived by her parents Linda and Steve Kelsall and siblings James (Jen) Kelsall and Caroline (John) Kelsall Brackney. She was a loving aunt to her niece, Emma Kelsall, and her nephews, Parker Kelsall and Eli Brackney. Valerie's hobbies included hiking, traveling and fine-dining with her many friends. She was planning a future with her loving boyfriend. Valerie had an energetic and outgoing personality that perfectly suited her career in hospitality. She thoroughly enjoyed her job and the many wonderful people she worked with.
Growing up, Valerie was very involved with her Polynesian culture and dancing hula with her family group. She competed and won the title of Miss Samoa Southern California in 2005 and traveled to Samoa where she was crowned 1st runner-up in the official Miss Samoa pageant. Valerie was a pitcher in the Scottsdale Miss Softball league and played softball, volleyball and basketball at Coronado High School. She graduated from Coronado in 2003 and attended Scottsdale Community College for two years. Valerie had a love for music and played the flute, the guitar and sang in the choir. Her infectious smile and loving heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
