COLUMBIA - Memorial Service for Vance Reon Jeffcoat, 36, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow in the Gathering Room of the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, assisted the family.

Vance passed away Friday, December 1, 2017. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Renny Jeffcoat and Janice Kay Hendrix Jeffcoat. Vance was a member of Rehoboth UMC on Two Notch Rd. He was a 1998 graduate of Sloan's School. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, he was a true fighter of life. In 2005, Vance received a double lung transplant at UNC, Chapel Hill. A talented musician and writer, Vance enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, and his greatest passion was the drums. Following his transplant, he regained the strength and ambition to continue playing and was in numerous local bands throughout his life. His life's dream was fulfilled in 2015 when his band, VadimVon, was honored to tour with Morbid Angel. He continued his career as a musician until his health declined in August and he no longer was able. His music and talent will be missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Janice and Renny, he is survived by his beloved sister, Kitty Jeffcoat-Blile (Michael); niece Kimberly Blile; Godmother, Frances Richardson; and great aunt, Mary Tyson; numerous cousins. He is also survived by many, many friends whom he loved and treasured.

The family extends a sincere thank you to Dr. Flume and Staff; the Transplant Dr.'s and Staff at UNC, Chapel Hill and MUSC Charleston for the prayers, love and support shown to Vance and our family.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, cff.org. or the Children's Organ Transplant Associaton, cota.org.
