Velma was born on July 3, 1920 and passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Velma was a resident of Charlottesville, Virginia at the time of passing.

She was a 1938 graduate of Red Hill School where she played center on a six-girl basketball team on an outdoor red clay court with a laced-up basketball, as she loved to share. Sunday dinners at home meant fried chicken, which she had plucked after the bird had been dispatched.

Friends are invited to make donations in her memory to the church of your choice.
