Verda Loree Briggs, 76, returned home to her Heavenly Father on January 2, 2017 in Rexburg, ID to meet her dear husband Hal whom she greatly missed. Loree as she went by most of her life, was born December 8, 1940 to Homer and Julia Williamson in Filer, ID.
The youngest of four children. Loree lead an extraordinary courageous life full of trials and joy. Her father preceded her in death when she was 5, and her mother when she was 20. Her mother requested she wait to be baptized a member of the LDS church until after she had passed, wishes that she honored. Loree did convert and eventually met her husband Hal. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on October 14, 1972. They were blessed with 8 children, 20 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
She worked hard, had a great love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and a faith in Eternal Families. She was a talented seamstress, crafter, and lover of people. Loree was a kind gentle woman who was loved by many. She always said her greatest accomplishment was the family she created with her husband.
Preceded in death by her spouse Hal Briggs Jr, parents Homer and Julia Williamson, and her brothers Max and Merlin Williamson.
Loree is survived by her son in law, Brian; daughter, Heather; grandson, James; granddaughter, Madilyne; and grandson, Ansel Humecky of the Family home, Her children, Shane and Leslie Hoffman of Nevada; Shawn and Mary Hoffman of Georgia; Shanan Ray of Georgia; Sheldon and Cecelia Hoffman of Hawaii; Spencer and Crystal Briggs of Georgia; Stuart and Valiant Briggs and Holly Holt all of Georgia; her sister, Norma Kunz of Idaho; and her 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, with Bishop Corey Child officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services.

Another funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
