Vergil was born on May 6, 1928 and passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Vergil was a resident of Missouri at the time of passing.

The oldest of three boys born to Glen Alfred Collins and Bertha Inez (Goodwin) Collins, Vergil graduated high school in Berryville before enrolling in Draughon Business College.

There he met best friend Orville Glidewell, with whom he enlisted in the U.S. Army in the aftermath of World War II.
