Verl Eddie Holland, affectionately known as "Goober," passed away at his home in Walker, LA on August 3, 2017. He was born on August 30, 1957 to Verl and Doris Duncan Holland. Goober was a native of Tampa, FL, and he was raised in Little Rock, AR. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Judy Corley Holland. He also leaves behind two step-daughters Jinci and husband Kevin Strahan and Melissa Roberson, and two step-sons Mitchell and "Scooter" Alford, three grandchildren Emzly, Aniley, and Merritt Strahan. A sister and brother-in-law Linda and Howard Elliot, nieces Donna and Lori Becker, a great-niece, three great-nephews, mother-in-law Marie Corley, and innumerable family and friends. He worked as a shore tankerman for 40 years. He loved the river. He owned H & S Sand and Gravel Pit for 10 years, and Walker South Storage for 10 years. He was avid hunter. He faithfully attended the First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. He will be remembered for being a larger than life man always with a tale that grew with each telling. He was a wonderful husband, great provider, entrepreneur, inventor, and always willing to help everyone. Some people considered him their hero, and others a father. He is proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Bruce Holland, and a sister Diane Holland. Visitation will be held at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6pm until 9pm. Visiting resumes at the church on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 10am until Celebration of Life Service at 12pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Orion Cemetery in Redfield, AR on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10am. Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneal.com
