Vernon Baker, age 89, formerly of Carlisle died Sunday at Willow Knoll in Middletown. Vernon was born in Madison County, Kentucky, the son of Andrew and Elsie (Rose) Baker. Vernon served during WWII in the Army Air Force, serving during the India/Burma Campaign. He was one of the founders of Baker Brothers in Carlisle along with his two brothers, Clyde and Charles. Vernon was a member of the Springhill Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Reva; a son, Gene (Wanda) Baker; two daughters, Becky (Ken) Saunders of Pleasant Hill, Ohio and Lisa (Jeff) Rostad of Germantown; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Lorene (Paul) Roberts of Franklin. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00am at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin with Reverend Bob Stacy officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm at the funeral home on Thursday.
