Victor DiCristofalo, 74, of Spring Hill, FL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, with his family and loving caregivers around him at the Almost Home ALF. Victor was born and grew up in Brooklyn NY, with his two brothers and his Father Ignazio, and mother Katherine. Victor was a 1960 graduate of William E. Grady Vocational High School where he studied plumbing, sheet metal and carpentry.

After graduating, he joined the US Navy with his best friend Vinny Garguilo, remaining friends throughout the years. During his time in the Navy, he served as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42) Air Craft Carrier and was a Vietnam Veteran.

After discharge from the Navy, he married his long time childhood love, Linda. They moved to Flanders, NJ and lived there for 35 years. Over the years he worked on certifications in various skills with electric, refrigeration and plumbing. He worked for many years on X-ray and Pharmaceutical equipment instrumentation and refurbishing and was a Systems Specialist for Xerox Medical Systems for approximately 20 years. Victor developed Parkinson’s disease and retired in 2002 from the NY Board of Ed, where he worked as a Steam Fitter.

Over the years, dad enjoyed sailing and various outdoor activities. He has always worked with his hands and has accomplished many beautiful projects with his woodworking skills over the years. One specific project many will remember was the gazebo he built Linda in her kitchen, and a brick mantle and chimney in their house in NJ. Dad could also fix anything, and was often consulted to figure out how to fix electronics that didn’t work.

He moved to FL in 2004 with his wife, son and grandson to live near his daughter and 2 other grandchildren, building their dream house next door. Not long after his wife Linda passed away in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignazio and Katherine DiCristofalo. He is survived by his daughter, Nanette, and Son-in-Law, Jack; son, Richard; three grandchildren, Lynette (Nanette’s daughter) and Aydan (Nanette’s son), and Joseph (Richard’s son); and extended family and friends.

A Gathering will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017 and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home located at 14360 Spring Hill Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609.

Victor will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 11:00AM on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
