Victor Lee Hatfield was born on April 10, 1922 in Putnam County, Missouri to James and Minnie Hatfield. He was the seventh of fourteen children. When Lee was in his young teens he headed out west and landed in Farmington, Washington where he later met and married Faith Hayfield. Lee went off to fight in WWII and upon returning he and Faith had a son, Kent. The family moved to Spokane where Lee worked for Cummins Diesel. During this time a nephew, Jim Hatfield came to live with the family and he became their second son. After early retirement from Cummins, Lee and Jim founded Hatfield Enterprizes, a long haul trucking company. Kent later joined the company as it continued to grow. Lee was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Faith; sons, Kent and Jim; granddaughter Amy Hatfield; and long time companion, Mary Boyer. Lee is survived by two daughter-in-laws, Lynn and Connie; two grandchildren, Kim (Brad) Cole and Darrin (Drue) Hatfield; and three great grandchildren. Donations may be made to Hospice House of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St., Spokane, WA 99202. As per his request no services will be held.
