Vikki Turner Blount, 45, of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered eternal rest after a long battle with cancer on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was born September 6, 1971 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, daughter of Kenneth and Sue (Kauffman) Turner. Upon graduating from South Dearborn High School in 1990, where she was a swimmer and a lifelong avid reader, Vikki joined the US Air Force. While there, she would meet her husband of 22 years Desmond Blount. After her service in the military, she studied at Cincinnati State and later worked as a drafter in Structural Design for THP Limited Inc in Cincinnati. In the summer of 2013 Vikki was initially diagnosed with Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Despite the prognosis, Vikki took the battle head on and fought bravely for 3 1/2 years. She inspired her extended family and friends through her determination and optimism, never allowing her battle to stop her from offering everyone a smile. She is survived by her husband, Desmond Blount of Cincinnati, OH; her 2 sons, Kenny Blount of Cincinnati, OH, Kevin Blount of Cincinnati, OH; her parents, Kenneth and Sue Turner, Aurora; 2 sisters, Lori Turner of Cincinnati, OH, Kimberly (Shaun) Myers of Lawrenceburg, IN; and 2 nieces, Ava Myers and Emma Myers. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 11 am to 1 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, 455 Ridge Ave, Greendale, Indiana 47025. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1 pm. Contributions may be made in Vikki's name to the Dragonfly Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House.
