Vince was born near Millican, Texas(Brazos County) on July 16, 1937 . The family moved to the Houston Heights area when he was 11 years old. While attending Reagan High School, he began working for Weingarten Grocery Store on Washington Avenue.
Vince was always the one to save. As a teenager and while working for Weingarten's, he was able to help with the purchase of the home in the Houston Heights area where his parents lived until their passing.
His journey with Katherine began at Weingarten's. He worked as a Grocery Manager and Katherine worked as a checker. It was there that their journey began. They were married on April 22, 1961 at St. Theresa's Church here in Houston.
Their first son, Stephen Lee Contello, was born on April 11, 1962. He and his wife, Rosa have two(2) children, Giovanni Contello, 27 and Tony Contello, 24. They reside in Conroe, Texas.

Their youngest daughter, Janet Marie Contello, was born February 25, 1969. She is our family's "special" needs member. Always remembering everyone's birthday and telling everyone that she had her daddy's nose.
After 35 years with Weingarten Grocery Store, Vince went to work for Thrif-Tee Supermarket with George Colletti. He then was given the opportunity to work for Rice Epicurean Stores until his retirement.
Vince lived a simple life and was always working hard to provide for his family. His love was shown through his hard work and providing for the family.
Family gathering's on Sunday to enjoy Grandma Contello's spaghetti dinner was a favorite. Spending time at the Trinity Lake house and working in the yard were some of his hobbies.
Vince & Kathy moved to Baytown, Texas after 37 years living in the Garden Oaks area.
And "yes" daddy, you did turn "80" this year..
