Violet "Vi" Joy (Nee Witt) Passed peacefully to the next world on December 23rd at age 90. Preceded in death by husband Harold, parents, and four siblings. Loving mother of Geoffrey (Landy), Steven (Linda), and David Joy. Like a mother to Greg Nahmens (Yoshie). Further survived by grandchildren Heidi (Mike) David, Holly (Charles) Lee, and Thomas (Elizabeth) Joy, seven great-grandchildren and many relatives and dear friends. Born in Chicago of immigrant parents Vi lived most of her early years in Monona, WI. After attending Madison East High School received a BA in journalism from the University of Wisconsin, then began a career in public relations at the Parker Pen Co. in Janesville. Vi married Harold Joy of Beloit on May 24, 1952. Settling in Muskego, WI she was a reporter for Community Newspapers for 31 years. Charter member of Heritage Presbyterian Church where she was ordained an elder and a deacon. Activities over the years included gardening, cards, traveling, ceramics, sewing, bowling, skiing, ice-skating, swimming, golf, and civic organizations. Visitation Friday, January 5, 2018 at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK-CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield from 9:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heritage Presbyterian Church and American Heart Association are appreciated.
