Virginia "Ginny" L. Arlen, 90, of Gilsum, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on October 14, 2017.with her faithful companion chance by her side

She was born December 29, 1926 in Gilsum, N.H. the daughter of Inez G. (Harris) and Clarence M. Howard.

Ginny married the love of her life, Frank Arlen on April 24, 1948. They spent 29 wonderful years together before his passing in 1977.

Ginny had been employed by and retired from People's Laundry (Linen) where she was a supervisor. Once she retired she enjoyed spending time in her kitchen cooking for her loved ones. As well as spending many hours outside, maintaining her many vegetable patches and flower beds that she was so proud of.

Ginny was a thoughtful woman who had a lot of love to give. Over the years she had fostered numerous children and always willing to open her home as well as her heart to a child. Her love extended to her animals. She had ducks and geese and a countless number of dogs over the years whom she loved each and every one, there was no creature that crossed her path that she wouldn't feed and care for. She will always be remembered for being a person willing to share whatever she had.

Ginny will be dearly missed by Brenda Fawcett whom she loved and raised as her daughter.

Ginny is survived by: Brenda Fawcett and her fianc Darren Short of Gilsum, NH; granddaughter: Sara Sullivan and her children Lauralli, Serenity, Aidan, Mykah, and Kyzer of Winchester, NH; grandson: Frank Fawcett and his significant other Tabitha Chamberlin and their daughter Adrienne of Tallahassee, FL; and her best friend and companion: Chance, her Labrador mix; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Arlen, and all of her siblings.

In keeping with Ginny's wishes, there will be no public services. A private burial will take place at Centennial Cemetery in Gilsum, NH.
