Viva Ruth Liles, of Russellville, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late Walter Roy and Cora Patterson Lawrence, she was born in the Buttermilk Community, near Appleton, Arkansas. She was an entrepreneur, and produced the first movie made entirely in Arkansas, "Wonder Valley," in 1953. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Liles; a son, Gary K. Liles; and four brothers: Garland, Kenneth, Quinton and Roy Lawrence, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Mirna Ruth Liles of San Francisco, California; a brother, R. L. Lawrence of Apple Valley, California; four sisters: Violet Lawrence Hinshaw of Fallbrook, California; Audra Lawrence Tobin of Rancho Palos Verdes, California; Carrie Mae Lawrence Rhodes of Brownsville, Texas; and Mary Faye Lawrence Watts of Laredo, Texas; two grandchildren: Sabrina Bingham and Derrick Liles, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 A.M., Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery, near Appleton, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M., Sunday afternoon, at the funeral home.
