Vivian Elizabeth Gellor died of age related causes at Dungeness Courte on July 5, 2011. She was 92.
Vivian was born December 14, 1918 in Hoquiam, WA to Frank and Wendla Beckstrom Lindberg. After graduating from what is now Central Washington University, she taught school and coached girls' track in Onalaska, WA. Her parents moved to Port Angeles with the start up of the local PenPly mill and Vivian joined them for the summer.
She started working at the Clallam County Assessor's office and decided to stay. While working there she met her future sisters in law and got to know and love the family before the love of her life had even returned home from WWII. She met and married William B. Gellor and they made their home in Port Angeles where they owned and operated Gellor Insurance, Inc. They had two children, daughter Wendy and son William M. She was a loving mother and both Bill and Vivian were very active in their children's lives and the community.
Vivian was also active in Eastern Star and Rainbow for Girls. She was a lifetime member of Soroptomist International.
Bill and Vivian loved to dance and were members of Club 50, a dance club they enjoyed for many years.
Vivian was the ultimate Husky fan and loved attending Husky games here and on the road. During football season even her fingernails were done in Purple and Gold.
She loved to travel and cruised with family and friends.
She was known as "Gaggee" to her grandchildren, William G and Molly and was thrilled to welcome two great grandchildren, Peyton Elizabeth and Susanna Lee.
Vivian is survived by her children, William M and Susan Gellor and Wendy and Fred Rix all of Port Angeles, WA; grandchildren Willliam G. and Danielle Gellor of Mt. Shasta, CA and Molly and Ryan Smith of Sequim, WA; great grandchildren, Peyton Smith and Susanna Gellor. She is also survived by sister in law, Patricia James of Sequim, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William B. Gellor and her parents, sister in law Francis Sage, brothers in law Roy Sage and Harry James as well as cousins Betty Bourm, Harriet Hansen, and Norma Sorenson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County or the Husky Marching Band (PO Box 359505, Seattle, WA 98195) are suggested. Graveside services will be held July 16, 2011 at 3pm at Mt. Angeles Memorial Park with a Celebration of Life following at 4pm at Peninsula Golf Club 824 S. Lindberg Rd, Port Angeles.
